The reporter learned from the China Iron and Steel Association that in the first half of the year, the national steel output was 536 million tons, up 1.3% year on year, and the steel output was 677 million tons, up 4.4% year on year, ensuring the steel demand for economic development.
From the perspective of steel consumption structure, in the first half of the year, the proportion of steel in the construction industry decreased, and the steel for ships, automobiles, home appliances, wind power and photovoltaic industry continued to grow, effectively supporting the growth of the variety and quantity of steel in the manufacturing industry.
In terms of steel exports, in the first half of the year, China exported 43.58 million tons of steel, up 31.3% year on year.
In the first half of the year, China's steel industry continued to accelerate the green and intelligent transformation, and by the end of June, a total of 87 steel enterprises had completed ultra-low emission transformation. The comparable energy consumption and pollutant emissions per ton of steel in the steel industry continue to decline, and the endogenous driving force of green transformation continues to strengthen.
