Fastener Supply Company, a North Carolina distributor, announced Tuesday the acquisition of General Machinery, a Kansas-based hardware and fastener supplier.
Following the merger, General Machinery's Pittsburgh, Kan., location will operate as a branch of Fastener Supply under its current name. Company Manager Michelle Hampton will continue as branch manager.
"This combination presents a strong opportunity for General Machinery to accelerate growth and reach new heights," Hampton said in a statement. "By combining with Fastener Supply, we can leverage our collective strengths to better serve our customers and achieve greater success in the fastener industry."
FSC officials said the company's customers will see a wider range of products and services in the combined business, and that the deal will achieve synergies that will benefit customers, employees and shareholders. The Charlotte-based company, which operates four other branches in North and South Carolina, added that the move will cement its position as a "dominant player in the fastener industry."
"General Machinery brings exceptional expertise, a talented team and a strong customer base, all of which will complement and strengthen our operations," said Donnie Shrum, president of FSC.
