According to the data released by the Joint Association of Passenger Car Market Information (hereinafter referred to as the Passenger Association), it is estimated that the wholesale sales of new energy passenger car manufacturers in September can reach 830,000 units, an increase of 23% year on year, and an increase of 4% month on month. Cumulative wholesale sales from January to September were 5.92 million vehicles, up 36% year-on-year.
Specifically, in the first half of 2023, the new energy passenger car market showed a higher trend month by month. Since July, the passenger car market has been in the off-season, but with the launch of a large number of competitive new products and the increasing promotion of cars, the enthusiasm for buying cars in August and September has continued to be released.
At the same time, the performance of China's automobile export market continues to strengthen, especially the export performance of new energy passenger vehicles, forming the characteristics of the new energy passenger car market at home and abroad.
The association pointed out that the new energy passenger car market shows a significant Matthew effect, and the advantages of leading enterprises continue to expand. In August, there were 15 domestic manufacturers with sales of more than 10,000 new energy passenger vehicles, accounting for 87.3% of sales.
Among them, the sales data are: Byd Auto 274,086 vehicles, Tesla China 84,159 vehicles, Geely Auto 47,299 vehicles, GAC Aean 45,029 vehicles, Changan Automobile 36,919 vehicles, SAIC-GM-Wuling 35,612 vehicles, Ideal Car 34,914 vehicles, SAIC Passenger Car 26,615 vehicles, Great Wall Automobile 26,266 vehicles, NIO 19 vehicles 329 vehicles, 14,190 zero-run vehicles, Xiaopeng Motor 13,988 vehicles, SAIC Volkswagen 13,003 vehicles, Nezha 12,103 vehicles, Chery Automobile 10,579 vehicles.
The Association believes that China's new energy passenger vehicle development advantages will continue to consolidate and expand, and it is predicted that the sales volume of new energy passenger vehicles in 2023 will be 8.5 million, and the penetration rate can reach 36%.
