
On July 12, 2023, in response to an application submitted by American company Vulcan Threaded Products Inc., the US Department of Commerce announced an anti circumvention investigation into steel threaded rods and carbon and alloy steel threaded rods imported from China, reviewing the products made of unthreaded pins imported from China Has the carbon alloy steel screw produced in the United States evaded current anti-dumping and countervailing measures.
On March 26, 2008, the United States conducted an anti-dumping investigation against steel screws originating in China. On April 14, 2009, the United States officially imposed anti-dumping duties on Chinese steel screws. Afterwards, the United States conducted two sunset review investigations, two affirmative rulings, and extended the tax collection period. The US coordinated tariff numbers of the products involved were 7318.15.5051, 7318.15.5056, 7318.15.5090, and 7318.15.2095.
On March 14, 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce launched an anti-dumping investigation against carbon alloy steel screw rods imported from China, India, Taiwan, China and Thailand, and launched a countervailing investigation against the products imported from China and India. On February 10, 2020, the US Department of Commerce made a final affirmative determination on anti-dumping and countervailing measures against carbon alloy steel screws imported from China and India. On April 9, 2020, the United States officially imposed anti-dumping duties on China's carbon alloy steel screws, while also imposing countervailing duties on China and India's carbon alloy steel screws. The case involved products under the US coordinated tariff codes 7318.15.5051, 7318.15.5056, and 7318.15.5090, as well as some products under tariff codes 7318.15.2095 and 7318.190000.
